2. Why do you think it was important for the Roman soldiers to carry one of these small altars around with them?

 

3. The God in the picture is Mars, the Roman God of war.  There was a field outside Rome called the ‘Field of Mars’.  Why do you think it got this name?

ANSWER: Many Gods, this is called ‘Polytheistic’.

 

2. Why do you think it was important for the Roman soldiers to carry one of these small altars around with them?

 

ANSWER: So they could worship their Gods wherever they went.

 

3. The God in the picture is Mars, the Roman God of war.  There was a field outside Rome called the ‘Field of Mars’.  Why do you think it got this name?

 

ANSWER: Because it was where the soldier’s camps were where they would train and gather before they went to war.
