1) This is just a replica to show how sometimes children had to make their own toys. Have you ever made a toy from recycled materials? If so, what was it and what was it made from?

 

2) Children were often given prizes such as sweets for collecting scrap metal objects such as old toy cars.  Do you think swapping a toy for sweets is a fair swap?

 

3) Think about one of your favourite toys. How would you feel if you had to give it away to be recycled?

ANSWER: Your answer might be different but children often did this so they must have thought it was a good idea!

ANSWER: Your answer might be a different but many children thought that it was a good thing to use the metal from their toys to make planes and other war items.
