CHOOSE YOUR BOX!
Welcome to our WW2 topic box, containing these real and replica historical Second World War artefacts for hire straight to your school to enhance your teaching and your pupils' learning.
This box is slightly different to our others in that it is based around a fictional WW2 family from some found photos, meaning it is perfect for writing, drama and character creation actvities, using some of our lesson plans with full writing lesson plans and character profiles to explore in guided reading.
In addition, the box also includes this Morse Code task to raise pupils' enthusiasm for your topic and teach them the skills used by real soldiers!
With its unique writing focus, this box is one of our favourites of all our history loan boxes and feedback from teachers who have used it has been excellent in terms of the way it has impacted on KS2 writing.
Initially introduced to the family in the video explanation, the pupils explore the characters further using the clues provided by the artefacts in the box. This is then built upon with a series of writing lessons designed to add depth to the characters for pupils to take foward into their own writing.
For example, they can step into role as one of the two children evacuees writing to their mum; design and question their own character or even make a paper Spitfire plane to hang in class!
Whichever direction you take with the box and its resources, we are sure it will enhance your pupils' learning and bing your WW2 topic to life!
