ANSWER:  Because it looks like you might imagine an alien to look!

 

2.  This bivalve had a hard outer shell called an ‘exoskeleton’.  Can you think of any modern creatures with one of these?

ANSWER:  Snails, crabs and many shelled animals called ‘Crustaceans’ and ‘Mollusks’ often look like this

 

3.  Draw your own ancient creature like the bivalve.  Can you make it look like an alien?
